📤 Goal: Move money safely
Hands-on, simple, controlled steps.

Introduction

Sending and receiving digital currency is simple once you’ve done it a few times — but the first couple of attempts can feel tense.

This lesson slows everything down and gives you clear steps for both sides: sending and receiving.

What you’ll learn

  • How to request crypto safely
  • How to send crypto without mistakes
  • How to double-check networks & addresses
  • How to do tiny test runs first
  • How to confirm a transaction has arrived

1. Receiving digital currency

Step-by-step:

  • Open your wallet
  • Select the cryptocurrency
  • Press “Receive”
  • You’ll see your wallet address (QR + text)
Only share your address. Never share your seed phrase.

Copy your address and send it to the person sending you funds. Double-check:

  • The cryptocurrency matches (BTC to BTC, etc.)
  • The network matches
  • Your address is copied fully (start + middle + end)

2. Confirming the received transaction

Once sent, you’ll usually see a “pending” or “incoming” message in your wallet.

  • It may take seconds or minutes depending on fees
  • Your wallet may show confirmations counting upward

When confirmations reach the number required by the wallet or exchange, the balance becomes final.

3. Sending digital currency

Here’s the calm version of the sending process:

  • Open your wallet
  • Choose the crypto you want to send
  • Press “Send”
  • Paste the receiver’s address
  • Check the network matches
  • Enter the amount
  • Review the fee and “you will send” amount
Before confirming, read the first 6 and last 6 characters of the address on BOTH your device and the receiver’s message.

When everything matches, press “Confirm” or “Send”.

4. Doing tiny test transactions first

This is the safest habit you can have:

  • Send a tiny amount first (even £1–£3 worth)
  • Wait for it to arrive
  • Confirm you used the right address and network
  • Then do the main transfer
If anything is wrong, the tiny test saves you from a big mistake.

5. Understanding speed & fees calmly

If the network is busy or the fee is very low, your confirmation time may be slower. This is normal.

Avoid refreshing every 5 seconds — let the network work.

6. A simple sending checklist

  • ✅ Address matches (start + middle + end)
  • ✅ Network matches on both sides
  • ✅ Amount correct
  • ✅ Fee looks reasonable
  • ✅ You understand the expected speed
  • ✅ You’re sending from your wallet, not your seed phrase

7. Your next steps

Once you're confident sending and receiving, it’s time to learn about a key part of the crypto economy: stablecoins.
